Agnes Su_edited.png

Dr. Agnes Suszter-Gautschi is a professional musician with a doctorate in flute. Already as a child, she learnt the foundations of music according to the world-famous Kodály method. In 1997, she won first prize at the II International Flute Competition in Timisoara (Romania). She has received numerous chamber music prizes and awards from domestic competitions, as well as a scholarship from the Hungarian State for her doctoral studies. Her university studies included church music with choral conducting and vocal specialisation (MA 2009). She obtained her doctorate in flute in Hungary in 2012. After that, her musical journey took her to Germany for 8 years and to Switzerland in 2020.

She works as a flautist, singer and chamber musician both locally and internationally.

In church music, her specialties are choir music and Gregorian chant. For several years she was a member of the ‘Schola Hungarica’, one of the most important Gregorian choirs in Europe. She sang on numerous CDs and performed in concerts throughout Europe. She has worked with various children's - and adult choirs, both amateur and professional.

In addition to her active solo and chamber music activities, Dr. Agnes Suszter-Gautschi gives MGA (basic music lessons) at the music school in Zumikon and works at the Pfannenstiel singing school. In 2024 she finished her studies in Elementary Music Education (MA) at the ZHdK. She is leading the Singfrauen Männedorf since March 2022.

In addition to the high standard of her musical work, cultivating the human dimension is particularly important to her. The mutual joy and motivation that comes from singing and making music is a fundamental experience she values.
